Hemp Bedding for Animals

Hemp Bedding offers horses and other animals a cleaner and healthier home. In reality, any animal that requires bedding would benefit from hemp bedding. Hemp is extremely absorbent as it can hold 4x its own weight. It is very low in dust and reduces odors better than straw or wood shavings. Hemp bedding is completely biodegradable and naturally decomposes into the earth.  Some people are actually mixing their hemp manure with seed and returning it to their fields. The inner core of the hemp plant, called Hemp hurds, is used for bedding. It is highly absorbent and rich in cellulose and has great thermal properties. Bedding longevity, cleanliness and earth friendly qualities are thing the consumers are looking and hemp bedding  gives that to the consumer.  Keep the knowledge flowing.

Washington State Makes Hemp Legal

Washington State Governor Jay Inslee signed into law the legalization of industrial hemp.  The state House voted 98 to 0 and the Senate voted 49 to 0.  The law excludes industrial hemp from the definitions of "controlled substance" and "marijuana".  The law simply makes hemp legal.  One more State is getting on board with industrialized hemp.  Keep the knowledge flowing.

Kansas Farmers Left Out Of The Equation

The Kansas farm economy is struggling and in a recent meeting dozens of farmers showed up to find out what they could about growing industrial hemp.  33 States have legalized growing hemp in the last few years, but not Kansas.  That's odd as Kansas was the number two producer of hemp before it became illegal.  The farmers simply want a crop they can make a profit on when other crops won't sell.  A bill to allow Kansas to grow industrial hemp has been brought forward and the farmers are pushing for it.  People don't realize that the US brought in $650 million of hemp last year from Canada alone and the farmers of America don't want to be left out of the equation.

CBD Hemp Oil Measure Passes Indiana's General Assembly

On April 21, 2017 Indiana lawmakers passed the state's first ever cannabis bill.  A unanimous vote in the House moved a cannabidiol oil bill onto the Governor's desk.

The bill will allow doctors to prescribe CBD Hemp Oil to people with treatment resistant epilepsy.  The article states that CBD Hemp Oil has shown the ability to effectively stop seizures even in people who have hundreds a day.

If the Govenor signs the bill into law, it will take effect in July.

It seems States are falling like dominoes when it comes to legalizing CBD Hemp Oil for the purpose of medical treatment.

Let's keep the knowledge flowing!!!!

Texas Compassionate Use Act

In 2015 Texas lawmakers legalized CBD Oil by passing the Compassionate Use Act.  These

lawmakers actually acknowledged the fact that CBD Oil had benefits for some epilepsy

patients.

Now, 2 years later the State of Texas has decided to issue just 3 licenses for CBD

production facilities in the state. This has brought in upwards of 40 applicants for the 3

licenses. They are coming from both out of state and instate.

This is all good, but as usual, money talks.  The licensing fee itself is $488,000.00 and

that doesn't include application fees and employee registration which will take the first

step in getting one of these licenses to about $500,000.00.  On top of that is building a

facility to grow and process and finally sell it.

Why does a license cost $500,000.00???

Virginia Decriminalizes CBD Hemp Oil

Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe signed signed two bills during the week of March 27, 2017 and one allowed for the production of CBD Oil. The law deemed SB1027, will allow those individuals suffering from epilepsy to access CBD Oils produced in state by approved pharmaceutical companies.

I believe this is a step in the right direction, but it still involves big pharma which I am not in favor of.  I would like to see CBD oil produced in the open market as opposed by big pharma. Let me know what you think?

Is CBD Oil Legal?

CBD oil is growing in popularity for those looking for muscle relaxation, general therapy and anxiety reduction. However, its legal status is still very confusing.  In Dec. 2016, the DEA stated again that all cannabis extracts, including CBD are considered Schedule 1 substances.  Even though the DEA considers it illegal, it can still be purchased online and in retail stores around the country.

CBD laws vary from state to state, but the DEA still considers it illegal under federal law and yet it's still being sold?  What's up?

CBD is legally allowed in 44 States.  It's all very confusing so leave a comment if you like...

Washington State Passes Bill to Decriminalize Industrial Hemp

March 22, 2017 Washington State Senate passed a bill to decriminalize Industrial Hemp. This bill removes Industrial Hemp from the states "controlled substance list".  This will open the door for a full scale industrial hemp market and make it like any other farming crop.

It is my understanding the U.S. is the only developed nation that hasn't developed an industrial hemp crop for economic purposes.  Hopefully this legislation will lead the way throughout the United States.

Let me know what you think.

States Authorized to Grow Hemp

Hemp production was abolished in 1937, but as of today, 9 states have been authorized to again grow hemp. Hemp is grown for its fiber and marijuana is grown for its narcotic uses. Hemp has over 50,000 uses so we're hopeful this trend will continue and many more states will be allowed to grow hemp for industrial purposes.
