Is CBD Oil Legal?

CBD oil is growing in popularity for those looking for muscle relaxation, general therapy and anxiety reduction. However, its legal status is still very confusing.  In Dec. 2016, the DEA stated again that all cannabis extracts, including CBD are considered Schedule 1 substances.  Even though the DEA considers it illegal, it can still be purchased online and in retail stores around the country.

CBD laws vary from state to state, but the DEA still considers it illegal under federal law and yet it's still being sold?  What's up?

CBD is legally allowed in 44 States.  It's all very confusing so leave a comment if you like...

Washington State Passes Bill to Decriminalize Industrial Hemp

March 22, 2017 Washington State Senate passed a bill to decriminalize Industrial Hemp. This bill removes Industrial Hemp from the states "controlled substance list".  This will open the door for a full scale industrial hemp market and make it like any other farming crop.

It is my understanding the U.S. is the only developed nation that hasn't developed an industrial hemp crop for economic purposes.  Hopefully this legislation will lead the way throughout the United States.

Let me know what you think.

States Authorized to Grow Hemp

Hemp production was abolished in 1937, but as of today, 9 states have been authorized to again grow hemp. Hemp is grown for its fiber and marijuana is grown for its narcotic uses. Hemp has over 50,000 uses so we're hopeful this trend will continue and many more states will be allowed to grow hemp for industrial purposes.
